The "Elevador do Carmo" is an Elevator in the City of Lissabon, Portugal, which takes you from the lower Baixa to the Chiado.

Built by Raoul Mesnier de Ponsard between 1898 and 1901 it is a thoroughly beautiful form of transport.

This panorama shows the back side of the Elevador with the (modern) bridge to the Chiado. It is composed of three differently exposed panoramas, which are combined with a technique called High Dynamic Range (HDR).
